The Lincoln Bar Association chose Educare as the recipient of its spring 2019 service project. Opened in February of 2013, Educare Lincoln is the third Educare school built in Nebraska and is connected to Belmont Elementary School. The University of Nebraska, one of the school’s partners, established the Buffett Early Childhood Institute, which provides assessment resources and graduate teachers from its early childhood education programs to Educare Lincoln. Monetary donations along with donations of new or gently used children’s books were solicited from the Lincoln legal community. A special thanks to Jessica Aguirre and Kathy Phillip who supervised the book drop at the Lancaster County Court reception. Judge Thomas Zimmerman and Tasha Everman also deserve kudos for their legwork in collecting and delivering the donations.
